Another Wainwright ticked off the list! This morning’s 7.5-mile hike up Wansfell Pike took 2 hours 45 minutes, with 380m of elevation gained and a steady average heart rate of 119 bpm. The climb got progressively tougher, peaking with a 127 bpm effort on mile four, before a long descent brought the pace back up — finishing the final mile at a much livelier 3.46 mph and stopping for coffee in Ambleside.
A cool 13.7°C made for pretty ideal hiking conditions, and after the final downhill stretch, it was another satisfying summit in the bag.
