Martindale Hike

Published:

A snowy, bitterly cold 13.8-mile hike through the Lakes, taking just over five hours and climbing nearly 800m as I collected a few more Wainwrights. The climb was a real test, with mile two gaining over 340m and dropping the pace to 1.57mph, while the final descent saw another 360m lost in a single mile. With an average heart rate of 150bpm in temperatures barely above freezing, it was a tough but rewarding day in the hills.
